Now we could use 4 different types of control!! Game Modes at SSB Dojo has been updated, and theyre now talking about controllers!
At first you can use the old but the most recommenend one: the GC Controller. Powerful Rumbling... Second, the Classic Control is also compatible to SSBB. Also this one is not that bad for use. Third is that you can even use your Wii Remote/Nunchuk! It is possible while you have to turn it on its sid, but for a serious match you should use the GC Controller. How to SMASH and DASH with the Wii Remote/Nunchuk isn't clear yet.

(edit: updated title to better reflect news post)

The Wii console really is a versatile piece of hardware.
I mean, when it comes to controllers, there are pretty much four different types.

I guess I have no choice but implement them all!

There’s no need to be confused about what does what—just choose the play style you prefer!

I suppose I would recommend the Nintendo GameCube controller, though. I like the feel of that powerful rumble.

Still, try out the other controls—they definitely give you a fresh experience.

Hmm? How do you do smashes and dashes with just the Wii Remote?
If I get the chance to tell you, I will.

I would recommend using the GameCube controller as well. The Wiimote just doesn't have enough control for the type of fighting Super Smash Bros Brawl has. You could punch and uppercut with the Wiimote, but you can have a wider range of attacks with the GC controller.

I think it is still a bit earlier to say what is and is not possible with the Wiimote setup. SSB is a simple game inherently to begin with, so my guess is that the developers can come up with some pretty interesting setups for us to use and try out.

I would guess that the GC controller would be more comfortable for those who played SSBM, hence why Sakurai said he recommended the GC controller, but new players may find the other controllers more useful.

That means that it could technically support over four players like that Bomberman on the Virtual Console could. It is at base like a side scrolling platformer after all.

But it draws up some questions of smooth data flow in reality. I wonder if it would work out.

To start off with I will have a good go using all types of controllers, but I will most likely end up using the Gamecube controller since it works pretty much perfectly with Smash Bros games. Easier access to decent combos I reckon.

black doom brings up an excellent point. With the ability to use Wii and GC controllers simultaneously, up to eight player matches should be possible.

Hmmm, will a session support input from players using different controllers? We could have players accusing others of having an unfair advantage by going GameCube style.

It probably will, other games do.

Glad we at least know now what controls it has. I think I'll try out all of the controllers.

I'll probably wind up using the Classic controller or GCN controller. Unless, of course, the Wii remote + nunchuck control scheme turns out to be amazing.

I don't see how the Wii remote turned sideways would work. Theres only' three main buttons to use + a D-pad.

This is awesome. Off course I will use the Game Cube controller, I think it is the best option.

I would personally use the GCN controller, but that is my opinion. Other than that, thanks for the update!

This was a cool update. I think I will also use the GC controller it looks the best and it doesn't need batteries, also I would have a cord my wii is positioned in a place that I have to sit in an arkward place or move my tv and stand up for the motion sensor to work

Nice to see people have the option of choosing which controller they wish to use. I'll probably give it a try with the Wii remote and the Game Cube controller.
