Despite being a huge success on Xbox Live, game creator Jonathan Blow expressed negative remarks against how Microsoft Game Studios controlled the pricing of his title. And though subsequent Mac and PC ports were made by other developers, it looks like PSN will be providing the game to PS3 owners as well.

"Game creator Jonathan Blow became an overnight celebrity with the success of Braid, a game that he created from scratch with the help of artist David Hellman. It became a huge hit on Xbox Live, and was subsequently released on Mac and PC platforms as well. But it looks as if Xbox 360 won’t be the only game console to support Jonathan Blow’s incredible vision."

For anyone who has not played this game and owns a Playstation 3, buy it. It deserves every praise it gets and more.

Definitely one of the few games that get time manipulation correct, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was alright, but it treated it as a gimmick, Braid treats it as an art. The puzzles are extremely clever and the story itself is one that will never be replicated; simply put: Buy it.

Agree with everything but the Sands of Time comment. That game is just as gorgeous, just different. Not every game featuring time manipulation is going to have an undercurrent true story of love and tragedy..doesn't mean it's gimmicky.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I thought it was amazing. I only played a few hours of it and thought it was great. It just seemed nearing the end of me playing it, the time manipulation didn't seem like it was there for any deal of reason. More of a "Well, this is faster than restarting at a checkpoint." button. Perhaps I missed the point because I jumped in at a random spot in the game.

From what I've seen of the new Rachet and Clank, they're taking a lot of stuff from Braid and putting it in their game. Ripoff? Sure, but it looks like it's implemented in pretty good from the trailers.

I see what you mean, but I don't see why that's a bad thing. Like with the new PoP (haven't played the other two and I'm not particularly inclined), I find it serves to minimize interruptions to the experience, so it's less about dying vs. succeeding, and more about how you succeed.
The dying vs. succeeding thing is kind of a tired mechanic to me..I embrace developers exploring new avenues.
