An article that basically explains that the Playstation 3 will be a success in the future and one of the main reasons why it isn't doing too well currently is because none of the 10 points stated below have been accomplished, but once one is accomplished the PS3 will be on a role. Also once Blu-Ray players become cheap the PS3 will become cheap to create and allow Sony to profit for each PS3 or to lose less money for each PS3 manufactured. Either way it's looking up for Sony.

10. You simply have to give it some more time.

09. You cannot deny the power of the cell processor. I predict we will start seeing a great difference between PS3 performance and Xbox 360 performance as the next generation gets into full swing.

08. Backward compatibility with the PS2 collection (one of the best console collections in history I might add).

07. The price will eventually drop. I can’t say when, but it’s unavoidable.

06. Can anyone say “Gran Turismo 5’?

05. The PS3 is embracing the future of Bluetooth technology.

04. PlayStation Home

03. If Blu-Ray wins the next generation movie battle, the PS3 makes for a cheap Blu-Ray player

02. Unchartered: Drake’s Fortune. This could be the big hit they are waiting for.

01. Can anyone say “Gran Turismo 5’?

Wait, so backwards compatibility (point 8) cannot be done currently? point 6..bleh the should of grouped it as Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy; not just GT. Point 1...repeat of point 6, c'mon.

I will be trying my hardest to get a PS3. I know that there are great games coming out for it like FF13, Assassins Creed and Heavenly Sword. Those games are all the reason to get a PS3.

That's true Tekmosis, but unfortunately in Europe we do not have the backwards compatibility feature in our PS3's. I tried playing MGS2: Sons of Liberty on my PS3 (with latest firmware) but it couldn't recognise the game .

They should of said "Gran Turismo 5" on 5th place. But 10th is definately a very good point.

I think the 10th point is the essential one. I mean the PS3 hasn't even be out for a year yet and people are comparing it to the 360 which has been released for over a year and a half.

I think 7 is probably the most important move for Sony to make. Whenever I talk to someone about game systems, the first think that comes up when you hear PS3 is "Too expensive."

9 is a great point. The PS3 should beat the 360 because of that reason. The Cell.

I agree fully with this list! Especially with number's 6 and 1. Everyone should buy a PS3 if possible. It has excellent game play and graphics. PS3 home as well, as this list reminds us.

I sure as hell want a PS3, but I'm still waiting for an inevitable price-drop between now and November (my birhtday), so that somebody will agree to get me one.

Personally, I disagree with a number of these. 08, I don't care for. The PS2 was had an incredible title lineup, but I've had one for 5 or so years now. I loved it to pieces, but it's time to move on. 6 and 1, I don't give a damn about another Grand Turismo game. I never understood the appeal of these games. For 5, Bluetooth is the dominating right now. Cell phones all have them, PCs and TVs are starting to have them and it is the dominant form of data transfer this generation. Honestly, I don't think that this will make a huge difference in Bluetooth usage, it's already going great on it's own. Regarding 3, Blu-ray players are already cheaper than a PS3 and dropping in price rapidly. I am not all that interested in Uncharted, either.

10, 9, 7 and 4 are good points, however, but the rest is very opinionated. I can think of multiple other reasons the PS3 could be great, but this list doesn't quite do it for me.

Well, I'm really waiting for the price to get down and buy one. The price is so high right now unlike PS2 and PS1 that are very cheap this times.

I couldn't careless what price the ps3 is i would still get it. Cause unlike some who whine, i actually do something and save. The only time i will ever get a wii or xbox360 is if i had $3000 and i would get all in one go. But i rather buy a ps3 cause of the fact of how dominate it will be. PPl judge games and systems on how expensive things are, well guess what times change and prices go up. I dont know some of your ages but if you was around the 70s or a little higher, remember how a slice of pizza was $.30 now its like $2.00. But no doubt is that listen 100% right, though i would change 6 to FF13 and keep GT5 where it is.

Well some price would really get higher by time but notice that PS2 was somewhere at 900$ but now it's only somwhere at 150-200$. Same with PS1 that gets very cheap.

      Final Blade Jun 9, 07
Um actually it wasnt 900$. When ps2 came out it was around $399. But still ppl bought it and never complained it was too high.

I can say "Gran Turismo 5". Do I win?

Not everyone likes Gran Turismo. YOU obviously like it, but there are only 8 reasons up there why I would buy it.

Anyway, I'd still buy the PS3 if I had enough money.

    PS2 released at $299.99 USD, not 399.99.

One thing strikes me as funny. Everyone pushes the graphical superiority of the PS3 as a major reason why it will beat out XBox360, yet forgets that PS2 dominated as the graphically inferior machine last gen.

      Final Blade Jun 9, 07
Um no it was first released on 2001 for $399.99, then a few years later they decreased it by $100. Another year or 2 lowered it again by $100. And just 2006 they lowered it by 30 dollars. Trust me i know the price.

I don't really see Blue Ray catching on with people.

      teodortenchev Jun 9, 07
Me neither but things change. I couldn't see movies on DVDs catch up with me when I and everyone else only had our trusty VHS players but now almost anyone has a DVD Player in their homes.

Can anyone say "I don't give a sh** about Gran Turismo"?

There are many better reasons to want a PS3. I know 'cause I do.
If I had the money, I'd buy the PS3 for things like Home, Pain and MGS4.
