You're an Xbox 360 executive worried about the ceaseless advancement of Nintendo's Wii as it draws ever closer on the retail sales front. What do you do? You target the moms of videogamers with your next hardware price cut. Makes perfect sense to us...
As the Wii continues to chip ominously away at the lead enjoyed by the Xbox 360, it looks like the bigwigs at Microsoft are stroking their chins over a possible price cut for their console, in a bid to win over mothers of gamers.
Director of Xbox product management David Hufford is one such bigwig. Speaking to Bloomberg, Hufford picked out the Wiis accessible price point as a primary reason for its success. "We are well aware that the sweet spot of the market is really 199 bucks," said Hufford.
