You're an Xbox 360 executive worried about the ceaseless advancement of Nintendo's Wii as it draws ever closer on the retail sales front. What do you do? You target the moms of videogamers with your next hardware price cut. Makes perfect sense to us...

As the Wii continues to chip ominously away at the lead enjoyed by the Xbox 360, it looks like the bigwigs at Microsoft are stroking their chins over a possible price cut for their console, in a bid to win over mothers of gamers.

Director of Xbox product management David Hufford is one such bigwig. Speaking to Bloomberg, Hufford picked out the Wii’s accessible price point as a primary reason for its success. "We are well aware that the sweet spot of the market is really 199 bucks," said Hufford.

It would be nice if the Core dropped down to $250, while the Premium drops to $350, and the Elite to $450.

I agree. Those prices sound reasonable, maybe at those prices I would actually buy a 360.

As much as I think Bill Gates and co are rich enough without having to win ove rmore customers, good luck to them, but I still want to see Sony walk all over them.

I already have a Wii, but I do want a 360/PS3. The thing that's holding me back is the price. I really want a Premium Package so around $350 would be pretty nice.

Bill Gates could afford to give 360s away for free and not suffer losses.

If the Premium Package was around $350 then I'd be definately buy one. I have had my eyes set on a 360 for a few months now and a price cut would persuade me more to get one.
