Sony Pictures Secure inFAMOUS Motion-Picture Rights

Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation that Sony Pictures is in the process of acquiring the right to produce a motion-picture based upon the inFAMOUS videogame.

Yet another popular videogame title is being considered for the big screen treatment, as today it was revealed that the rights to Sucker Punch’s PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive release inFAMOUS have been purchased by Sony Pictures.

    Studios buy rights to movies all the time as a "just in case" kind of thing. A very small percentage of movies for which the rights are bought are actually made, and as a result, one can be a monetarily successful screenwriter without ever actually having one of your movies made.
