H.A.V.E. Online is a multiplayer team-based game developed by South Korean SK iMedia. Like Team Fortress 2, H.A.V.E. Online features various classes such as snipers and heavy weapons that team members choose from. From the looks of things, the entire outline of the game bears a deep resemblance to Valve's Team Fortress 2..

"Is it or isn't it? A video posted on YouTube highlights the similarities between the H.A.V.E. Online promotional trailer and several of the videos released in support of Team Fortress 2 and there's no denying that SK iMedia was, at the very least, powerfully inspired by Valve."

Seriously, I try not to get upset over this stuff 'cause I know the idea of copyright / intellectual property is still new in Asia. But they must know that it's not a good thing by now, seeing as how gamers are pissed and the devs are denying it. So why the Hell do Asian devs still make such blatant rip-offs? It's one thing to be inspired, quite another to copy.

Doesn't just apply to video games, sadly.

YouTube comments are interesting. Some have said the gameplay itself resembles Battlefield Heroes more than TF2.

it does. it looks like a really fast-paced BFH with a bit more variety.

this game is nothing like tf2, it's just the trailer, and a few other odd things. the similarities may be glaring, but there are very few of them.

    Lmfao.

Its like Toy story meets TF2 meets some anime show and they have a threesome while battlefield Hero's watches.

It looks pretty cool nonetheless. I like the idea that it's like a rogue Toy Story game, but it does mimic an already-done type of game.

I do not see the big deal... So they are both cell shaded, so they are both team based. What makes it a Team Fortress 2 rip i mean for one H.A.V.E is about toys fighting and obviously in team based online you are going to have classes. Every game on the market has a fast character with very little armour, heavy guys with machine guns and rocket launchers... The only thing Korea have "ripped" is the art style, the rest looks pretty damn unique to me.

Damn unique? The only thing unique is the toys, everything else is basically a carbon copy of TF2. The classes, the weapons basically everything. Did you even watch the video?

Anyone could tell that trailer was a blatant rip off Tf2. Even the flipping Logo looks like a rip.

from what i understand, there aren't any actual classes in the sense that TF2 has classes. maybe there's certain character types which are tougher or faster than others, but it looks like you can basically swap between any kinds of weapons on the fly. in the gameplay trailer the player switched between a grenade launcher, a sniper rifle, a machine gun, a rocket launcher, and a hammer in the same life.

They both had the same art style and used the same camera angles in the trailer. But saying this is a ripoff of TF2 is like saying every FPS imaginable is a ripoff of Half Life or Doom. All shooters share certain similarities, and when there are so many of them around these days, making a shooter that doesn't bear any resemblances to other games in certain areas is nigh impossible.

No trust me man, If you play Tf2 a lot. This is more than just art style. You can tell the gameplay mechanics are very similar. The only main difference is that you can use any weapon in this game and its a lil more fast paced.

they're (neither HAVE or TF2) not cel shaded. cel shaded games have lines around the edges of the models, and harder shading. theyre just kinda cartoony

If something is good someone, somewhere, at some point, will copy it. Big whoop. Anyone panty twisting over it is just quite sad.
