Electronic Theatre reports on the European launch of a brand new Call of Duty: World at War companion, available now for iPhone and iPod Touch on iTunes.

Marking a first for the Call of Duty franchise and its millions of dedicated fans, and following the announcement that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will receive it's own Nintendo DS spin-off later this year, Activision Publishing, Inc. and Call of Duty: World at War developer Treyarch, have launched another handheld product, the Call of Duty: World at War Companion, the first iPhone application for the blockbuster game today via iTunes for free. The Call of Duty: World at War Companion allows fans who own iPhones to remotely access important news and updates from the palm of their hand.

    Some claim movie marketing is so intense and well financed that reviewers cannot make an impact against it. That new 9 movie may not live up to its hype – but then again, it's been demonstrated time and again that critics don't know what they're talking about. The 9 movie reviews haven't been stellar. However, it has a heavyweight cast – Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, and an upstart director called Tim Burton. (He makes heavy waves.) It's a post apocalyptic CGI film in which machines have obliterated mankind, and small robots get into adventures, not to be confused with District 9, about aliens trapped on earth in South Africa – who aren't to be confused with the Springboks. Still, the <a rev="vote for" title="9' Movie Reviews Show it Might Not Live Up to Hype" href="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2009/09/09/9-movie-reviews-show-live-hype/ ">9 movie</a> is a Tim Burton film, which usually means a big studio pay day.
