Just one day after Amazon UK accidentally gave Gran Turismo 5 the wrong price, it has surged to #1 on the Amazon.co.uk Top 100 Videogame Charts. It even beat out all the Wii console and respective accessories.

Coming off the accidental misprint of £17, Gran Turismo 5 has surged to number one on the Amazon UK Videogame Charts. Yes, Sony’s racing behemoth managed to trump long-standing champions, the Wii and Wii Fit; both of which have spent 3 years and 1 year in the top 100, respectively.

I guess that shows that at £17 this game is going to sell well... Too bad real games sell for £40.

Mario Kart DS was $10 on Dell.ca the other day, for the same reason. Love it when this stuff happens.

Now that, is called racing game justice. I love Gran Turismo games so much.

I wish I had a PS3 when the price was wrong. I would have given 110% to buy it on the day if I could play it.

They also gave a tentative release date for GT5, and if that's anything like this pricing mishap, that shouldn't be taken as a serious release date...

Personally i think with GamesCom so close many rumours are trickling out that could very much be true now. I mean The Telegraph newspaper in the UK very respectable has posted that the Playstation 3 Slim will be announced with a price point of £260. All of this is coming so close to GamesCom and with the 3 hour press conference it is shaping up like they have something big to unveil. I believe Gran Turismo 5 will be there which is why the tentative release may infact be a real date. Polyphony have said already they can release at any time and Amazon has just shown that millions upon millions want this game. People want this game and Polyphony will want to release it when demand is highest.

Just to add it makes sense to unveil Gran Turismo 5's release date in Europe considering we make up the biggest buyers of Gran Turismo games. Gran Turismo 4 sold 5.7 million units in Europe to 2.4 million in America.

Not really all those that ordered at the £17.99 price will be emailed alerting them of the mistake and that those not willing to pay the official price can cancel with no penalty.
