The fans have spoken, and for a rare occasion: a company responds. Sony have stopped the WipEout ads that hindered the game, even if only slightly a little.

"The ad has been removed from WipEout HD and we are investigating the situation to ensure that any in-game advertising does not affect gameplay," said a spokesperson for the platform holder.

You'd think after all the mandatory installs ps3 owners would have gotten used to waiting around but no they still have to complain just because an advert takes up a couple seconds of their life. I can't believe they actually took this out, if I were Sony I'd have just given the middle finger and told the idiots to stop complaining about a stupid advert.

I don't mind ads so much if they don't cause any performance troubles (unlikely) and they fit into the game-world (like say billboard ads in a racing game.)

If it ever gets to the point though were there are video ads during load screens and stuff, I'm just going to stop buying games.

That's what this was -- video ads during load screens.
