Gamingshogun reports that in a financial report issued today, Activision Blizzard has announced it is pushing back the hotly-anticipated StarCraft2 to the first half of 2010 for a better financial year as well as to give their upcoming BattleNET service more dev time. Originally, StarCraft 2 was thought to be looking at an end-of-2009 release however that, obviously, is no longer accurate.

*UPDATE (1:40pm PDT) - We have just received word from Blizzard claiming that a large reason for this delay was that their new BattleNET service would not be ready for StarCraft 2's previous release date and needed more development time.

    Sounds like they're going overambitious with Bnet 2.0, they claim that the unit response time will be even better than SC1's LAN.
