Overall a good list. I'm disappointed that there's no "On Fire" or "Atomic Punk" though, both great David Lee Roth songs. Probably the two most metal ones as well, "On Fire" is nearly thrash metal.
This game took over my life for 4 freakin months.
To bad I'll be waiting a while, I'm in Europe.
To answer your question anyway, why not read a couple of reveiws?
That's pretty sad if you've only heard 2 songs out of "thousands and thousands". There's actually only 600 or so, by the way.
In all honesty though, the games are like exactly the same. I fail to see how you can hate Guitar Hero and yet love Rock Band when the gameplay is exactly the same. The only difference is the songlists, but that apparently doesn't impact you, considering you only know 2 songs.
It some respects, Guitar Hero's way of doing things is actually better. For one, it doesn't require an internet connection for the songs. It's also easier to promote an actual game, rather than just individual DLC. It's also kind of cool how you can follow the band through their career and stuff, and use them as playable characters. Also, I think it actually comes out cheaper to buy a disc than it is to download the songs. Rock Band songs are $2 each, while these band games are like $60 for around 50 songs.
It just depends on your preference for obtaining the songs really... I still don't see how anyone can hate one game and not hate the other when the gameplay is still the same though. Maybe prefer one game over the other, but hate?
All Activision knows how to do is manipulate the consumer into buying all their products because they say "and featuring *insert great, classic artist here*!! the best GH yet!!" People see the "GH" label on games and scramble to get it. I know one thing, they've done a great job of know how to get idiots to constantly keep buying all these pointless itterations.
I'll admit it, they have good songs in there games, but there is also the high probability that those songs will be featured in Rock Band's DLC catalogue.
Bottom line, HMX does better business for themselves as well as the fans while Activision doesn't give a shit and only knows how to milk everyone's wallets dry.
