A Playstation 3 ad was banned in South Africa for being "violent". In the add that had a few PS3 units with a line that read "Stocks are limited. Things could get ugly.". Authorities said that the ad hinted that violent incidents could arise. Fans argued, saying that these incidents aren't likely to happen because of the low demand of the gaming console in that area.
South African authorities have recently barred Sony PlayStation 3 advertisers from exhibiting an ad that has a couple of PS3 units tagged with a line that reads "Stocks are limited. Things could get ugly."
The authorities reasoned that the ad is a reference to past violent incidents related to gaming console launches in the US and Europe where muggings have led to injuries and fatalities.
Fans of the console and some blogs, however, argued that such incidents aren't likely to happen because of the slow sales and relatively low demand of the product in the region.
This ban follows a long list of other game related bans, such as that of the public transportation ban on advertisements for the game Grand Theft Auto IV.

I think this is very weird.
What world do we live in now?
What's next, you can no longer say "buckle up" because it implies that if you don't in the event of a car crash your skull might be wrapped around a tree trunk?
I totally agree. And can't people tell that "Stocks are limited. Things could get ugly" is a joke?
...when I read this article I lol'ed.
It's so ridiculous!
