Telltale Games has announced the release date for their latest episodic chapter in their PC point-and-click adventure series Tales of Monkey Island. Chapter 2, The Siege of Spinner Cay, will be available for download on August 20th from the Telltale Website.

After Guybrush has gotten off of Flotsam Island in Chapter 1, he makes his way to the Rock of Gelato, where he sees the pox-less LeChuck trying to court his wife. This is where Chapter 2 begins, except for the fact that a mysterious figure has intercepted Guybrush.

In other sad news, the Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures series saw its last episode released last week.

And all of a sudden, it's August. Wallace & Gromit's run on PC has wrapped up, and we're back to releasing episodes for one game at a time for the foreseeable future. The current season, of course, is Tales of Monkey Island, one episode deep in a five-chapter run at present. Because the first chapter, "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal" was released in July, and it is no longer that month, we've been getting a steady stream of folks asking us (with a mixture of disarming emoticons and well-intentioned threats) when the next chapter is due for release.

Well, wonder no longer: Chapter Two of Tales of Monkey Island, "The Siege of Spinner Cay" will be available for PC on August 20 (Pacific Time)!

When we left Guybrush Threepwood, he'd just escaped the mysterious winds of Flotsam Island aboard the well-meaning sailing ship The Screaming Narwhal. However, his hand is still cursed, and LeChuck--now in human form--seems, from a distance, to be courting fair Elaine's favor. To top it all, he's been intercepted by a mysterious figure, yet unrevealed. I wonder what happens next...
