Halo 3 - it's big, but not THAT big

Many websites have been saying that Halo 3 is going to be the first game to use up two DVD9 discs, while this rumour has now been cleared. The second disc will not be a game disc but I assume it will be extra features.

The latest rumor floating around is that Halo 3 is so huge, as a game, that it can't fit on a single disc. Joystiq has a story about it, CVG has a story about it, Xbox360Fanboy has a story about it. (Actually, now that I read CVG's entry again, it's just a straight report that the art's out - no speculation there at all. Good for them.) Bungie is pretty amused by the misinterpretation of the artwork; there'll be more info in tonight's Weekly Update, but for now, you should understand that one of the discs is a DVD and the other is a 360 executable - sort of like the discs that come with magazines like the Official Xbox Magazine. They're labeled the way they are because they have to go through test - but they are NOT both game discs.

    They should have been more clear about it when they put game disc on two discs! Then hopefully this game won't be as short as gears.

    Even though I've heard Halo is great, and I know that too because it really is and especially Red vs. Blue, but I'm not surprised it's not as big as we think it is. Halo 3 may be a long expected finisher for Halo, but I think the first Halo made a bigger impression seeing it was the first of it's kind.

    Good point, but if halo 3 is the end, you can kiss MS xbox gone. Cause as we all know if it wasnt for halo 1 xbox wouldnt be as successful, or have alot of sales.

      Uh...You're full of shit. A console doesn't survive off of one game or else no one would be buying 360's right now, which are outselling the PS3, would they?

      You are forgetting Halo Wars, and if the xbox just had 1 system seller don't you think it would've done just as bad as the gamecube.

    What? I think you're forgetting about Xbox Live, finalblade...which take advantage of any and all shooters as well as sports games. As for the games, there's Ninja Gaiden, Fable, and KoToR to name a few good ones.

      True However, we all know halo made xbox sell like hotcakes the first time. And the sequel was just as successful. Im not full of anything just facts, since many ppl know that MS talk so much crap out there halo being the sony killer. And Seeker X said b4 that halo didnt even beat the ps2 what makes you think it will this time. Im just saying xbox wouldnt be that successful if it wasnt for halo. It was the defining game for xbox. I mean halo would be my only reason to get xbox. They have so many similar games there is no reason to get xbox for any of them.

    The first Xbox i got was a Halo special edition, the only reason i got an Xbox over PS2 was because of Halo.....

    Finalblade just about any article I go too, your there bashing the 360. I probably love Sony and hate Microsoft as much as you but try to tone it back a bit
