Magnetic Mind is a beautifully rendered platformer similar to LittleBigPlanet, in looks and play. While not as in-depth as LBP it does offer an innovative platformer which could possibly give LBP some competition.

Magnetic Mind a stunning looking platformer which seems to have been inspired by LittleBigPlanet may eventually come to XBLA sometime. The impressive physics and graphics are sure to blow your mind away and the gameplay is highly similar to the successful LBP. This has a good chance of snagging an award at Dream Build Play this year and going to XBLA.

I can understand being inspired by such a great game, but this really just looks like a carbon copy.

The skateboard section and the part where he was jumping on the toast to grab those hanging cards looked exactly like they were from LBP, but it seems like they innovated enough to be more than a carbon copy, although it was clearly heavily influenced by LBP.

If this actually comes out, I'll buy it if it has Co-op.

I'd love a LBP xbox rip-off. I've always wanted to play LBP.

The same could be said about alot of exclusives on the PS3 that have more than a few similarities to great 360 exclusives.

Nothing wrong with using an idea and adding some extra elements to it to make it your own.

Because I'm sure MGS4, Ratchet and Clank Future, LittleBigPlanet are very similar to...umm...nothing, really. Killzone 2 may bear similarities to Gears, but barely. Frankly I can't think of a helluva lot of PS3 exclusives that bear any resemblance to anything on 360.

Let's just be frank here; this looks almost exactly like LBP almost to the point of lawsuit.

I could make a sarcastic remark about the PS3's library been completely original or the like but no, instead I have to ask: How on earth does the Xbox need new ideas?
Since when do consoles think for themselves?

he's a sony kid, he's used to the ps3 - which is self-aware, and does think for itself.

Silly me, I forgot about Sony's plot to take over the world using thinking consoles.

most, if not ALL, of the xbl arcade games are 3rd party, or independent. i highly doubt that xbox (as you put it) is developing this. if this was some kind of ploy by M$ to counter lbp, it would have been a full release, and there would be much more hype for it.

And you would have this same opinion if 360 had LBP and we PS3 overlords of greatness got a rip-off like this, would you?

      FACE.

If it were the other way around, I'd still call it a blatant ripoff and lack of real inspiration. You don't have to be a fanboy to see how incredibly alike they are.

It would be a blatant rip-off with a lack of inspiration, however would the guy I was replying to change his tone from this

          ?

          Not bloody likely.

Yes that is quite true, but this is Mudkiplover, not me, we're talking about. In any case I have far too many comments in this article. I ought to get lost now.

By the time this is out, Modnation will be out, which will hopefully be the next LBP, so it's practically jumping on the aged bandwagon when something much more fresh and appealing is on the market.

It's not an Arcade game, it is a XNA/Community/Indie game. Sorry, I forgot what they are called now.

If they think they can top Sackboy, they've got another thing coming. Sackboy is too iconic to be outshone by a plastic little skateboarder in a carbon copy game of LBP.

      Hideo1 Aug 11, 09
They don't think they can top Sackboy, obviously, they just think they can make a bit of money copying him. When it comes to creating a game generally the creator's main focus is making money. Making a game better then another game, when not directly tied into the former point, is about as important as farting pot noodle.

Anyone who says Killzone wasn't Sony's answer to Halo is kidding themselves; and as for MGS4, I suggest you look up Splinter Cell.

R&C? Look up any action/adventure/ with an obviously mascot-like protagonist, and you'll find its not original.

Honestly nothing in the game industry is truly original anymore, and after watching this trailer it reminded me less and less of LBP and more of a normal platforming game. Hell, I don't even think it has a level creator. As for "blatant ripoff" I have one word: Trophies. But again, this isn't a bad thing; when a game/system is popular, its completely normal for it to get copied.

Honestly just stop getting defensive and just enjoy what might be a decent arcade game (directed at everyone, btw)

Hasn't the Metal Gear name been around for much longer than Splinter Cell though? The first Splinter Cell I know of was on PSOne, right?

As for Killzone...well, even the original was touted as a Halo killer. However I don't think that's what Guerilla Games themselves intended. And Killzone 2 plays a lot differently than Halo. *shrug* they're both fun, so what does it matter?

In fact, if this game is fun as well, it shouldn't matter what it's similar to. I just think they should've tried to make this game's appearance be a little different than LBP. I mean, the bricks, grass and fence in the background are exactly like one of LBP's level backdrops. Whether or not it's actually good remains to be seen, and I never did say it was going to suck.

That's my point, there is no sense is writing it off before we have a chance to play it.

If you haven't already, I suggest watching the trailer and judging it for yourself after doing so.
