It looks like Activision did a number on some gamers and got there panties all in a bunch. To retaliate, many gamers over the internet are considering a boycott of Activision products. Some have started an online petition while others plan on pirating MW2. But as we all know, an online petition wont do much, there only hope is a successful boycott.

Activision Blizzard, the world's largest video game publisher, has been raising the ire of many gamers of late. So much so, in fact, that there is at least preliminary talk of a boycott of Activision products.

So what has the publisher done to create so much ill will?

A few things, actually.

The petition has gained over 2300 more signatures since that article was posted yesterday.

I found that this video provides some valid points:

2300 isn't even a dent in the games that are sold by Activison. And who the hell is going to take signatures seriously from a site named Satanic Baked Beanz?

I rest my case. I don't like Activison as much anymore but god dammit MW2 is going to kick ass...

I think this is one of the very few situations in which pirating is okay.

Pirating will just do more harm to the PC industry. The best thing is to boycott really.

Yeah, pirating is going a step too far. At least a boycott is legal.

Why would pirating hurt it more than not buying it? The exact same thing happens, just that people will still be playing the game.

I get your point Fallen, but I doubt it would give Activision any incentive to "be good" in the future. Stuff like that tends to go in cycles.

I'm really dumb. What is a boycott? Loads of people not buying the game?

Yeah, people pledging not to purchase products from a person or company.

Oh right lol. I don't see it working tbh. COD fans stay fans and that's why Activision jack the prices up because they know people will still buy it.

I'll be amazed if it lasts. Besides I'm getting me some sweet sweet Guitar Hero 5.

I hope this boycott works. It'll be a message to Activision and other publishers that they can't just screw gamers like this and get away with it.

Surprised there wasn't a mass Activision boycott the minute he said that, tbh. Boycotting games is getting really popluar these days.
    I frikkin' called it.

I'll happily take part. This is a move worthy of some boycotting action, I won't miss out on anything as 99% of their games are terrible, it's only Call of Duty keeping them going.

I hope Activision burn in hell. They're just as bad as Capcom when it comes to milking franchises and milking all their fans of their cash.

Like hell would this work. I guaranty half of them will be in town the day it comes out and walk past the game shop and just crack. Then go home and go online and be like

I tooootally boycoted it, man it was awesome, I was like in town and walked straight past the gameshop."

Most likely which is a shame. I won't crack I know that one I can easily live without Call of Duty as my favourite game in the franchise is CoD2. I don't much like the rest so this boycott will be super easy.

I hope this succeeds, they need to be taught a lesson. I'll gladly not buy any activision games, it wont be that hard.

As much as I despise Activision and the greedy bastards that run it, an online petition does nothing. They publish great games.

You'll buy Modern Warfare 2 and enjoy it, young man.

Does that mean none of you guys bought any of the COD games, Guitar Hero III onwards, Wolverine or any of the Tony Hawk games?

I'm not their biggest fan but Modern Warfare was one of the best games ever.

aside from the copy of WT I got for Christmas last year, no.

I rented MW and didn't like it, shooters suck imo.

The only good game on that list is COD, and if I ever feel the erge to play it what so ever. I'll buy it used so activision doens't get any of my money.
