Just saw this on twitter and think it's gonna be great. I do hope it's a free pack though!

I hate paying for things that should have been in the game to begin with (*cough* ice *cough*). It had better be free, a la the Creator Packs.

I'm pretty sure it'll end up being free. At least I would think so, just like the creator pack 1.

The water does look good. And some of the levels that people can create with it will be amazing. I hope if it cost money that people who dont buy it still get a chance to play the online levels that use it. Much like the MGS pack.

That was such an entertaining video! XD And water is a much needed addition, I'm glad MM realised "what was missing".

Loved the music in the ad, it sounded like the bit at the end of Queen's "Seven Seas of Rhye"! =)

I wonder why it wasn't included from the start?

Just time restraints I guess. I mean creating water with a physics engine able to interact in all those different ways can't have been easy.

Most likely it was a CPU load issue. It is most likely why this water is very flat and none physics based in comparison to say the water in the upcoming Crysis 2. This is generally because in a game like LBP where the user can literally spam something til it breaks water eats processing power for breakfast. This was probably a feature they couldn't add from the start as when they released this game they just dodn't know enough about the core archetecture of the PS3.

MM decided aganist water in the first product because they honestly wanted to release it at a later date as DLC (I'm sure FREE DLC) to help keep the game fresh. Before the game released, they were often asked why water wasn't in there. They gave us a list of different tools and features that they were wanting to put into the game, but were going to wait:

      Water,
      Gameplay recording,
      Gravity Manipulation
And one other I can never remember.

They said they weren't going to immediately put all those things in, but instead were going to see what the fans wanted first and foremost, and would deliver on that first.

IMO They should have added Gameplay Recording first. THEN they should add the gameplay-changing features over time in order to refresh the community and refresh the playability of the game. But if they add it later, it won't be as refreshing, if you know what I mean?

They also had ICE as a deadly tool, but took that out. I'm not sure if they're going to put that back in, I'm not sure if they ever mentioned anything about it.
