It's a free-floating classic, and it's on its way to the Nintendo Wii, according to the folks over at videogame retailer GameStop. As you can see from the quote, resident GamerSquad Wii-fanatic Chris Leigh is a tad excited about the prospect of a Wii Remote-controlled Pilotwings. Can you blame him?

US games retailer GameStop has added a listing for a Wii version of flight simulator Pilotwings to its site, sparking much fanboy frothing from the Internet legions (and, if I’m totally honest, your Pilotwings 64-obsessed writer).

This seems interesting. It should hopefully change the Wii's gameplay and spark some interests. A good move from nintendo, once again.

It seems to interest the Wii-fanatics anyway, which is always a good sign of a positive game.

Both the SNES and 64 versions were great. Hopefully the Wii version will be just as fun. Probably a bit more because of the Wiimote.

Yeah, I really liked the N64 one too. And this one should be even better with the unique controls of the Wii.

I loved the N64 version, what a classic game that is. Hopefully the Wii version will be just as good, if not better, and uses the Wii controls to its full potential. Should be picking up this myself.

I loved Pilotwings for the N64! I'll be sure to pick this up when I have the money.
