Electronic Theatre reports on the release details of the recently announced new PlayStation 3 model, and hosts the full technical specifications of the redesigned system.

Internal components of the new “slim” model have been re-designed including improvements to the main semiconductors, power supply unit and cooling mechanism allowing the internal volume to be reduced by two-thirds. Power consumption has also been reduced, and subsequently, fan noise. The PS3 brand name is also being re-branded from “PLAYSTATION 3” to “PlayStation 3” and given a new logo.
