After critical success on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, Dead Space headed off to the Wii. Extraction isn't a port to the Wii, but rather a prequel. At GamesCom Dead Space's producer hinted that after beating Extraction, players should wait until the end of the credits as it will hint to the "future of the series". Could this mean new info on Dead Space 2?

When asked by us whether Extraction would give any indication as to where the series may be headed in the future, Briggs laughed and replied:

"Let me just say that if you're going to play Extraction, you should play all the way to the end."

Make of that what you will.

yes, but this could give more detail on either dead space 2, or extraction 2. Maybe as far as what the story might be for Dead space 2.

Yup. But the way you worded it made it sound like Dead Space 2 had never been mentioned before.

Oh your right. I fixed that.

Anyway. I do hope that it is a teaser trailer for dead space 2. Much like the teaser trailer for bioshock 2 was in the PS3 version of bioshock.

It's funny, beating a terrible version of Dead Space on the Wii gives you info about Dead Space 2 which the Wii won't see at all.

You know, I don't mind prequels and spinoffs on handhelds and other exclusive systems but when the storyline connects to the main one, THAT'S when it becomes a little annoying. Like how Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was pretty important to the KH2 main storyline yet it was exclusive on the Gameboy. Though this might just be something like God of War: Chains of Olympus, just a prequel.

Isn't this a bit harsh on the Wii owners that this game will hint towards a sequel they most likely will not be able to play. Dead Space 1 never hit the Wii so why will Dead Space 2. The Wii will probably just get Extraction 2 which will hint towards Dead Space 3 again a game they won't be able to play.
