Beloved as the Metal Gear Solid series is, most fans will agree the plot history is more than just a little convoluted. Apparently even creator Hideo Kojimo agrees, according to a recent interview.

"I personally get confused too about the whole timeline and saga of Metal Gear Solid. This is especially tricky when you create the future first and then go back in time to create something new. There are a lot of small aspects where sometimes it doesn't match completely."

Kojima makes good games; there's a difference.

Kojima is a very smart man when it comes to maken games. If he confused himself on MGS, he's doing something right.

Well he's obviously gonna be confused now with MG:Rising. I'm sure he was even thinking "wtf?" along with everyone else.

      Why?

Speaking of Rising, there's something confusing me concerning the game. Every time there was a rumor about MGS4 being ported there'd be a group of people who said something along the lines of "That would never happen, Kojima is an artist who perfects his work to one console."

Yet when Rising was initially announced as a 360 exclusive, many of those people baww'd, saying that he betrayed them or something. In fact there were so many complaints that Konami broke down and made it multi-plat. So isn't that a little hypocritical?

It sends this message of "We love you as long as you put it on our console."

A guy and myself and talking about MGS and this other guy asked what the story was about.

... Yeah, we both just sort of went silent for a few seconds before telling him to drop it.

I can answer that. Its about a guy who sneaks tostop metal gears. Then he meets another guy with blonde hair who does the same thing, but it turns out the first guys really a clone.
