What's better than holding one Desert Eagle pistol? Holding two Desert Eagle pistols. Yes, at the Gamecrazy event in Las Vegas, Infinity Ward showed off dual-wielding pistols in Modern Warfare 2. Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling had this to say:

“Just walked off stage. Crowd was amazing, went insane chanting “pick it up!” when I stumbled over Dual-wield Deagles. lol - Akimbo confirmed”

It is not known how many weapons you will be able to dual-wield, or if you will be able to dual-wield weapons in the multiplayer or co-op.

Dual wielding is less accurate and you don't even need the extra damage, these weapons can kill in a couple of shots. I probably won't be using it.

I wonder if it's online too, though?

Quite a nice addition, I just hope it stays away from multiplayer though.

If this feature is in multiplayer I hope you have it right from the first rank.

Or we could not have everyone running around @ Day 1 with dual pistols raping everyone (thus making the game less fun overall)

I didn't feel that the original Modern Warfare needed dual wielding, but its nice to have I guess.

It's nice to have, but I'm going to hate how everyone will use the "Power over whelming" combo.

Proper lame.. Makes it more "action movie" orientated than war.

Heres to hoping this game allows the wrists to snap from the recoil of such guns in dual wield... This is a terrible idea for such a realistic franchise.

So what benefits does this add to the game exactly? It's no more fun than using one weapon, and as far as gameplay goes there's generally very little benefit. It's not a bad addition, but it seems pretty pointless.

The people with modded controllers have double the ammo. Fantastic.

You wont be able to use modded controllers in MW2. Infinity Ward has said this at least once by now, if not more than.

I thought Modern Warfare was meant to be realistic.

Not once have i heard about someone fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan run in dual wielding two machine guns trying to take down some terrorists, seriously the idea behind it is idiotic.

That's a really good point FFF.

Only in the *bleep*ed up halo universe is dual wielding acceptable.

      Gameplay > Realism
      More fun > Less fun

Although I am sort of contradicting myself here.

I like the idea of dual wielding,I'd love to run around with two machine guns, shooting down anyone in my way .

Hopefully if its included in multiplayer it'll come with some negatives as well, such as long loading times, decreased hip fire accuracy, inability to throw grenades or something similar to balance out

That's worth at least another $20 price raise for the game.
