PS3 Slim Sells Out At Amazon

The PS3 Slim hasn't been available for pre-order on Amazon for long yet it has sold out already. Is it that these people are stupid enough to waste money on something they have because it is smaller and 'cooler'?

The new slim model for the Playstation 3 has been a hot commodity ever since it was announced last week at GamesCom 2009. In fact, Amazon (the biggest online retailer in America) has already sold out of its pre-order allocation. The product listing page of the Playstation 3 Slim shows that the model is temporarily out of stock and the following message:

“Order now and we'll deliver when available. We'll e-mail you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your account will only be charged when we ship the item."

    No it's not because it's smaller or cooler, it's because it's cheaper.So many people have complained about the price and now the price is lowered, a LOT more people are willing to buy one.

    I'm not insulting everyone. That is my opinion on it and I think it is a waste of money. As was the PS2 slim.

    It could also be that the people that don't have on yet are now buying it because it's a better value. Not everyone in the world has one yet, and this could be a reason for them to finally get one. If I had the spare cash right now I certainly would be pre-ordering one now.

    Either way, it looks like they got more in because that message is gone from the site now (and the source got updated and said they're back in stock now too) and has a shipping date of August, 28th.

    The PS3 Slim only appeals to me for one thing: the price. However, with the lack of PS2 compatablity (which I'm certain was Sony's attempt to be a Captain Planet villain), I've got to decide whether or not I should get a £250 PS3 80GB, or a £250 PS3 60GB.

      Just get one of the normal PS3s, they're of the same price as the Slim, plus you're getting a bit more (except for the 120GB hard drive the Slim has).

    no its cheaper that is why they spending there money on it as far as i now most people including me are keeping there original ps3

    and yes you morron when you say they are stuped you are insulting evry one who bought one
