Electronic Theatre reports on the changes to the official North American and European pricing structure for Microsoft's Xbox 360, and a claim from Sony that they have no intention of retaliating by bringing forward the newly remodelled PlayStation 3's launch date.

Microsoft has today confirmed that which the industry had been predicting for some time. While rumours of a price-cut for the Xbox 360 have been rumoured since the beginning of Summer, and further so since Sony’s revelation of the PlayStation 3, and it’s new lowered price-tag, it’s only today that the Xbox 360 will see a reduction in it’s European Recommended Retail Price (RRP).

    I thought MS was secure enough to not need a price cut if Sony did one. At least they sure made it sound like that.
