Electronic Theatre reports on the clarification of the reasons behind the increase in the recomended retail price of the Xbox 360 Arcade model from Microsoft.

While it may be acceptable to increase the price of hardware based upon fluctuations in the value of currency in the worldwide economy, a price hike of £30 is a rather drastic increase. Indeed, this increase now places the Xbox 360 Arcade bundle at only £10 lower than the Xbox 360 Pro unit – which includes a 60GB Hard Disk Drive – which will remain at retail for at least a short time, while Microsoft’s phasing-out of the package continues.
