Rare's attempt at reviving the Banjo Kazooie series with Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts wasn't a commercial success. But Rare were quite happy with the result, even claiming that "no other game can match the creative freedom Banjo offers gamers."

Rare's most recent Xbox 360 title, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts might not have been a huge commercial success, but the British developer still believes the game was a success.

"I guess we consider it to be a success in that it met the expectation of the people that were creating it, in terms of the final product," Rare design director George Andreas told VideoGamer.com. "In terms of execution, I can honestly say I don’t think you could have executed that particular concept much better."

I wouldn't say it was a blistering success, but think most parts of the game were a success.

Sure there could have been less driving (ok, a lot less driving), but Rare's humor and character/level design are still very much intact.

I haven't played it a whole lot, but I wouldn't consider Nuts and Bolts a complete success. Sure amongst other games Nuts and Bolts was good/okay, but it pales in comparison to the previous games, I honestly have no idea what Rare was thinking when they made the game a racer.

I liked the building in it, though it could do better with platforming while being without a vehicle.

Still, people made some crazy stuff in the game. I saw an entire collection of Star Wars ships and one time... a flying spinning spiked swastika that shot flames from the ends.
