By stats we mean how many hours worth of gameplay was spent on the beta and the total of unique players connected revealed for all those number crunchers or braggers!

According to Live guru MajorNelson, there were some 820,000 unique participants in the beta, playing more than 12 million hours combined worth of gameplay. This is equivalent to more than 1,400 years of continuous play, notes the Major.

As expected, it also had quite a bit of effect on Live's bandwidth usage, adding a further 350 terabytes worth of data being downloaded from Microsoft's network. Not a bad effort at all.

I can expect that, given that the Halo series is immensely popular. But 12 million hours combined is just plain ridiculous.
