One of the big things about the PS3 is its Blu-Ray drive. Many people have bought a PS3 just to watch Blu-Ray movies, while most to game. So how many of those PS3 owners actually use this feature and watch Blu-Ray movies? Suprisingly quite a lot, about 74%.

Sony's US PlayStation Network man, Eric Lempel, has revealed some recent stats for just who is using the PlayStation Network. HD content apparently outsells standard-definition on the PlayStation Network and Sony's done some surveying to back this up.

Right now, 74% of the users who have PS3s have spent time watching Blu-ray movies," he explained.

I am part of the 26% that haven't. Well, I watched a movie on Blu-Ray once, but that was it. I'm not a consistant Blu-Ray movie watcher.

Your missing out. Unless its because you don't have an HDTV?

Every time I go to blockbuster and find a movie, I always check to see if they have the Blu-Ray version. If they do, I get that.

Don't have an HDTV. And there's no point in watching HD movies if I can't actually enjoy the HD part.

Sorry Red that makes you the majority.....even watching just one nails ya!

I have yet to try out the Blu-ray myself. I have over 300 DVD's and their snazzy price tag keeps me going back for more. When Blu-rays start hitting the $5 bin, I will convert.

You are not missing anything by not watching Blu-Ray movies.

With a Blu-Ray the color is a little better and slightly sharper than upconverted DVD movies. But that's about it.

Blu-Ray is not worth the cost of the player, and the upcharge per movie. Upconverted DVD is good enough.

Unless they start releasing movies on Blu-Ray only there is no reason to bother with it.

And what if you have a big HD TV? Or already have a Blu-Ray player in the form of a PS3? Clearly for some people there is a reason to bother with it, or it wouldn't be selling at all.

I got my first two Blu Rays today, including Adven Children Complete. When I get my PS3 back next week it's going to be awesome

Also uncompresed sound. Blu-ray sounds better on sorround sound then a DVD

Watch them all the time. Own 33 different Blu-ray movies and counting.

I'm apart of the minority. I don't have HDTV or else I'd buy/rent Blu Ray instead of standard DVD's.

I thought it was pretty smart of Sony back in the day to provide a Blu-Ray or two with the PS3. If I hadn't watched The Prestige in Blu-Ray, I probably would be in that small percentage.

I have about 30 Blu-Rays. So yeah, I watch them all the time. I just get new releases though. I don't care too much for classics remastered.

I've never watched a movie on Blu-ray. Don't have an HD TV, so I'm not about to pay extra for the same thing.

My PS3 is content with just games for now.

Planet Earth Box Set is awesome.

I bought it more for the quality than the programme. But I like that two.

I got that horrible Talladega Nights with my PS3 (launch). That was the first BD I ever watched . . . and sadly I cannot un-watch that movie

But I've watched a few others. I Like BD, mostly for the possibilities of it. Many are putting some good extras on the disc that you wouldn't find on DVDs.

However, until the price goes down to what DVDs are nowadays, I'll stick with DVDs Did the same with VHS and nothing wrong with waiting until it's the norm!

Trust me, everyone wishes they could unwatch that pile of crap movie. I couldn't believe that movie ended up being in a bundle. It was just to get rid of stock; I'm certain.

Yeah same here! What's worse was that the inclusion of that movie was supposed to be a sort of "introduction" to the wonders of BD . . . Didn't do too good of a representation!
