From creepy scenes (like a ghost crawling out of a woman's vagina) to the downright weird (like killer wigs and drinking milk vomit), the Ju-On: The Grudge movie series has had it's fair share of screwed up moments. So you'd think that the PR guys for the game would be able to come up with something creative and/or spooky when making the box-art.
Well, apparently not.
The American box art is nothing special to look at. But the European box art looks like they weren't even trying. And "Fright simulator"? Seriously?

Ju-On...oh, Ju-On...

Things were bad enough with the American box art. "Haunted House Simulator"? But little did we know what lurked around the corner...

Ju-On's European cover. For real. It's horror, alright, but not the kind the original movie did so well.

Christ, that looks so low budget. Well, maybe they spent all their money on the gameplay and had no money left for the cover design.

I'm sorry, but that European box art will sell shedloads of the game. The Wii's hardcore market over here is dwindling, rapidly, and Ju-On will appeal to all those who watch films like Grindhouse or Drag me to Hell without really paying too much attention to games. Imagine it lined-up on the shelf in Tesco - every 20-something who wants a weekend game to play with their mates will pick it up.

I disagree that the box art will sell a shit ton of the game. However, I do agree that the game atmosphere itself will sell the game.

Nah, most of Wii's audience won't know what the game is until they see it on the shop shelves, let alone have played it. Unless Rising Star Games manage to get some TV advertising going (which I doubt), at least 75% of it's market will be people who don't read games magazines or websites.

Hahaha, that cover reminds me of the old, black and white B-monster movies! I loved those movies!
