It's a bit too early to be wondering whether Batman: Arkham ASylum will be getting a sequel, but fans are already asking. But it looks like Rocksteady aren't even considering a sequel yet. “We’re just waiting to see if people like the game,” they said.

The most obvious question in the history of obvious questions: is Rocksteady working on a sequel to the almost universally acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum? Shall we ask Paul Crocker, AA’s lead narrative designer? Oh, go on then.

“We’re just waiting to see if people like the game,” said Paul.

A sequel? I don't know. Half the magic of B:AA is Arkham Asylum. Which other place in Gotham can provide the same intense atmosphere of AA?

Gotham City itself? It's played the backdrop to so many of Bats adventures. If they play it right Gotham could be to Batman 2 what Rapture is to BioShock. It's a world and it's vast but it's a character all to itself just like Arkham Island. I personally feel whatever Rocksteady do it'll be to the highest calibre.

You have to remember that it wasn't just the setting that made it special; the setting just made it easier for him to have so many supervillains running around, and with Batman it's THEM that make it special. Now, over half of the Supervillains are currently running around Gotham having escaped Arkham thanks to Joker - there's a lot of magic to be had.
