Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair had a chance to give his two cents on the Church of England's beef with Resistance: Fall of Man. Blair is tending to side with the complaints, explaining how the gaming industry can take better care in how it chooses to depict the real world. In response to a question posed by Tony Lloyd, MP for Manchester Central, asking whether it is inappropriate for "big corporations" to use imagery of locales like Manchester Cathedral to depict gun violence:

"I agree with my honourable friend. I think it's important that any of the companies engaged in promoting these types of goods have some sense of responsibility and also some sensitivity to the feelings of others.

"I think this is an immensely difficult area, the relationship between what happens with these games and its impact on young people," the prime minister went on.

"I've no doubt this debate will go on for a significant period of time, but I do agree. I think it is important that people understand there is a wider social responsibility as well as an interior responsibility for profits."

what do you expect him to say...even if he was completely for Sony he couldn't say he was because that would mean he was against the church...and that is something that he just can't do

What does Blair have to lose if he sides with the Church? Much less so than if he sides with Sony.

It's all about political favor. Having the church back you up is a good thing. Especially being in Europe where the church holds greater influence than it would in say, Mexico.

He's out of a job in a few weeks time, so it doesn't matter what he has got to say, like we listen to him anyway.

Even so doesnt mean he cant do anything. He is still in office so until he leaves, he can still do stuff as if he had a new contract.
