Silent Hill: Homecoming is widely regarded as the weakest link in the series, so it probably isn't a huge loss that Konami have suspended the Japanese release of the game. Konami gave no reason for this decision, but instead told fans to "Please look forward to future titles in the series."

Konami's Silent Hill Homecoming will not be released in Japan. On the title's official home page, the Japanese company has announced that the domestic release of the game has been suspended.

No reason was given for this decision. "Please look forward to future titles in the series," the announcement notes.

Will these "future titles" actually be developed by Team Silent?

Or are they just going to use Team Ninja, since those guys obviously know what the hell they're doing... Nurses in vinyl and thongs with massive boobs that can be jiggled with your SIXAXIS controller, perhaps?

I second the motion for a Team Silent reunion. No reunion, no more Silent Hill, please.

I third the motion for a Team Silent reunion. No matter how good an SH game from another dev might be, Team Silent are the only ones who can get the 'heart' of the games right.

Homecoming wasn't terrible, but it sure wasn't a Silent Hill either. Just drop the goddamn name already, Konami. I'd hate to see this franchise milked dry... Final Fantasy VII.

Wouldn't mind more Climax games if SHSM is good.

Damn, that's when you know you *bleep*ed up, Double Helix.

After SH4, I'm betting that what was left of Team Silent basically became projectSIREN (a dev team for SCEJ rather than Konami) ever since, and they haven't been heard from since Blood Curse.

That explains why Blood Curse kicked ass and Homecoming sucked (in comparison at least).

Ironically, I'm betting Homecoming sold much more than Blood Curse ever did/will.

Homecoming was actually a pretty good game people just diss it because it's different than the old silent hills when really as a stand alone game it would have probably been a lot more respected.

But yeah takeing Silent hill back to it's roots would be cool but either way a new one would be good. I hope they have more puzzles this time, they were way too easy in homecoming.

Uh...no...it's because a lot of us DIDN'T like it. What with crappy animations, crappy controls, crappy designs, crappy graphics, and crappy loading times, etc. But...yeah that MIGHT just be me, who knows?

Thankyou for proving my point exactly.

What point? You could go to Youtube and compare SH2/3 with Homecoming and STILL prove me right. Hell, compare it to any horror game this generation, just to make it that much more obvious.
