Today, further evidence was given that Sony will unveil a new AAA title at the Tokyo Game Show. Su-Cheng Wu, the Project Manager at Sony America, posted the following on his LinkedIn profile:

“Producing character faces for a coming soon AAA FPS PS3 title”

This could possibly be Resistance 3, or a brand new title. What do you think?

They must've kept it tightly under wraps during development if it's coming soon. Either that or they mean they'll be revealing soon. In that case we could be looking at a 2011 release date. In which case I don't care.

Sony has so much trouble keeping secrets, im surprised they were able to keep this underwraps.

Resistance 3 are you kidding? I doubt Insomniac can pump out two AAA titles in one year, even if they are getting bigger nowadays. No doubt they've started on it, but R3 probably doesn't have a full fledged team right now. And it wont until they're done with ACiT.

And I also doubt they'd let Sony develop the game instead of them...

Hm . . . Isn't there rumoured a AAA game that Sony is supposed to announce . . . Like every major press even this past year or two?

It wouldn't be Resistance 3. A) it's too soon, B) Resistance is made by Insomniac, not Sony.

What is everyone's obsession with AAA games? You don't need to be AAA to be good.

Why? because its AAA. It means its got a lot of stuff behind it, Including big budgets and a high quality team. No one said it needs to be AAA to be good. Your the one who just goes around moaning about how people think popular things are good. In fact, the only reason you say that is because the bunch of good games on WII are outshone by other games. That might be because its filled with a crap load of shovel ware. So your problem is peoples obsession with crappy casual shovel ware, not with AAA games.

Its like asking why people think something made by the hand of god is better than something made by a monkey.

...WTF does the Wii have to do with this? He's just wondering why publishers using the term "AAA" automatically mean it's GOTY material, even when that hasn't been the case 100% of the time. No need for unnecessary suspicions unless you just wanna start a fight for no reason.

He said EVERYONE, Not just publishers. Tell me, where in the article does it say they said its a GOTY?

And yes I'm pretty sure Akira EX thinks games on WII need more attention. He wants the good games on WII to have the same hype and admiration that the big names on 360 and PS3 get. If you have even read his comments on here for some time you would know this is the case. There are a few good games on WII, and they hardley get mentioned anywhere.

          Lets look at Gamespots gotys:
2008 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
          2007 Super Mario Galaxy
          2006 Gears of War
          2005 Resident Evil 4
          2004 World of Warcraft
2003 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
          2002 Metroid Prime

          IGN:
          2008 Fallout 3
          2007 Super Mario Galaxy
          2006 Ōkami
          2005 God of War
          2004 Half-Life 2
2003 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
          2002 Battlefield 1942

          Spike TV:
          2008 Grand Theft Auto IV
          2007 BioShock
          2006 Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
          2005 Resident Evil 4
2004 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Pretty much all of them, with the exception of Okami can be classed as AAA games.

Like Slumpy said, bigger budgets, quality teams, etc. Usually AAA games are a lot better than those that aren't. That's pretty much why everyone likes them.
