When Platinum Games start talking about Bayonetta's appearance, they start veering off into creepy land. Here is what producer Yusuke Hashimoto had to say about what they were aiming for when creating Bayonetta's characteristics...

"The director of the game Hideki Kamiya always creates hero characters that are a little different from the traditional hero, be it Viewtiful Joe or Dante from Devil May Cry," explains producer Yusuke Hashimoto.
"He felt that he’d made so many male hero characters he really wanted to break the mold and have a female character instead, and many of the characteristics of Bayonetta are attributed to her being what he thinks would be his ideal woman.

    Of course, the whole fact that she doesn't really exist is a fly in the ointment, but who cares about actual connections with other Humans these days, eh?

      Compared to pretty much every other Japanese character...she looks surprisingly "normal".
