Achievements, those little time suckers. But if you think on it, it adds a great deal of replayability to a game. Without achievements you would just play thru the game, and if you’re like me put it on your shelve, that houses your collection of 360 games. Left to collect dust, and perhaps get pulled out when company shows up.

Little blurb about Xbox 360 achievements. Follow the link to the forums to post your thoughts after you read the full article. We would love to have a debate going. We have a very user friendly site, and great forums.

I like acheivments because they seem like a reward to me after beating a tough level or getting enough kills with a boomshot.

Its also pretty cool that you can show off your gamerscore on xbox live.

I always thought that achievements gave me an incentive to play a game a lot. I get a special sense of satifaction when I see the "Achievement Unlocked" appear on the screen.

I love it when it sneaks up on you, playing and pop. Nice little present if you ask me.

I'm up to 5510 GamerScore since having it in Ocober. Achievements bring a great challenge to the table, and like you said, more replay value. I've become an achievement-junkie.

Finally seem to be getting to the point when I can't be *bleep*ed now, over 40,000 gamerscore and there's no challenge now, no one to race with to spur you on. So I just play games for hard achievements now.

    I call shenanigans.

I never really gave a damn about achievements, my gamer score is like 900.

I like going after the more difficult ones and usually end up getting the easier ones unexpectedly. That's what it's all about to me.

I also like to play most games without knowing the achievement list at all. If I know them beforehand, they aren't as fun when you actually receive them.

I just love finishing a game in full for the full 1000 or so gamerpoints.. It's good to compete with my other friends too with the harder achievements.
