Soldner-X sequel announced exclusively for the PS3

For awhile it seemed like the shmup genre was going to fall by the wasteside this generation but things seem to have picked up recently. Last year a new shmup was released in the form of Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer. Now a sequel for Soldner-X has been announced exclusively for the PlayStation 3.

If you’re a shmup fan and a PS3 owner then today is a good day for you as it was announced today that the old-school shmup Soldner-X will be getting a PS3 exclusive sequel. The sequel, which is titled Soldner-X2: Final Prototype, is scheduled for a Winter 2009/2010 release and of course will have a bevy of new features to please fans of the first game and to entice new players.

Some of the key enhancements in Soldner-X2 include a new bullet pattern system for you hardcore shmup fans to obsess and memorize, new attacks and there will also be hidden bonuses which include what the PR statement calls a tribute to the first Soldner-X game.

    It didn't say it.I was being sarcastic and basically stating that I don't give a shit that it's exclusive.

    Also really that a lot of 3rd party game that PS3 gets suck.
