Sony has released Firmware 3.01 for the Playstation 3. This update is optional so you can still sign in to PSN without downloading it. Currently the only known fixes that come with this update are freezing problems resolved.

As promised, Sony has released a new firmware to fix the problems that the 3.0 firmware update caused for many PS3 owners. The update is not a mandatory update and will not kick you off an online session or require you to update your system. This is purely your choice.

Whether this new patch fixes any other problems or adds in new content hasn't been discovered, yet. It's safe to assume it'll only fix the previous freeze problems and glitches that the 3.0 firmware caused three weeks ago. You may want to update just to be on the safe side, but it's up to you.

Nah, but when people whine about the box around friends names it does start to become a piss take.

Ironically enough, PS3's crashing was one of the topics least talked about.

Mine freezes when using the internet. Maybe this helps it stop doing that. I warned it already in this short discussion:
"Listen, don't give me anymore shit, crash one more F***** time, and I swear to god I will F****** kick your ass out the door and get myself a PS3 Slim!"
    "..."

Duh, PS3's can't talk, don't listen to the insane guy
