Last week a new Final Fantasy XIII character was revealed in the form of Lightning's sister and "the cutest character in the game", Serah.

In the latest issue of Jump magazine, it has been revealed that her full name is Sarah Farron and, despite not being a playable character, she will play an important role in the game.
Serah is a tough, headstrong girl who is determined to solve her own problems without getting other people involved. She is also engaged to Snow, much to Lightning's annoyance, and that issue will show throughout the game.
Like her sister, Serah is a L'Cie and is marked with a tattoo of two red spheres on her left arm. Interestingly enough, she is turned into a crystal early in the game, and it's up to Lightning and Co to rescue her.

Thanks to Jump magazine over in Japan, we now have confirmation that Serah is Lightning's younger sister - and her full name is Serah Farron!

She's described as headstrong and determined to solve her own problems and like the rest of the cast is a L'Cie, marked as such by a tattoo on her arm.

She's romantically involved with Snow, but her sister Lightning is no fan of their relationship - this issue will show throughout the game. The pair are actually engaged to be married.

She wears a pendant around her neck which was given to her by Snow, and the pendant resembles the logo of Final Fantasy XIII. Her engagement ring is attached to the pendant - she doesn't wear it. Square Enix are to sell a replica of the pendant to fans - you can see an image of this below.

Serah is to be voice acted in the Japanese version by Minako Kotobuki.
