OXCGN's on-going Forza 3 update hits #5 for September already, making it the 5th in 17 days, which is a lot of Forza 3 news and info.

An excellent, albeit long vid on how the Turn 10 team do their stuff, and OXCGN's discussion on what is making this game different.

Slip over and check it out now.

While many games on consoles claim to be simulations, most aren’t. Forza 3 would have to be the closest thing to a real racing simulation than any other game being released currently. I say that even knowing many Sony fans of the excellent Gran Turismo will be jumping up and down swearing profanities left-right and center.

The reason I say ’simulation’ for Forza 3 is because it does simulate as many aspects of the cars in the games as humanly possible.

Not content to use ‘canned’ crash noises like many would, Turn 10 actually purchased vehicles and crashed them in order to obtain the ‘correct’ sound that would be heard when you do crash in Forza 3. Not only from outside, but from inside the vehicle, above it, etc, so that when you’re in a 3rd person viewpoint, you’d hear a different noise from when you are on say the bonnet cam view.

I hope they were cheap vehicles that they crashed, the thought of crashing a Pagani Zonda for no apparent reason just makes me wanna cry.

That interior dash is beautiful, but the steering wheel doesn't seem to fit lol

Yeah, the whole dash seems to be low res. Although it doesnt look like the final article yet. Hopefully.
