We wait, we wait, and then we wait some more. For those gamers beyond the Sony hardcore, those not prepared to shell out $599 for a gaming system - most likely because an Xbox 360 is already appeasing next-gen needs - then the prospect of a PS3 price cut is likely what you're holding out for. The time may be approaching. Finally.
While talking to Londons Financial Times, Sony chief executive Howard Stringer has finally conceded that there is "no doubt" that consumers are wanting and waiting for a lower, more accessible price point. "That is what we are studying at the moment," he said in terms of the Japanese gaming giant actually introducing a much talked about PlayStation 3 price cut.

He also notes that when he does release the official price cut, MS would un-doubtlessly make a price cut as well. But you know im not that worried since the ps3 will be cheaper all in all.
Don't forget though, they're one of the most powerful companies on earth. They control almost the entire music industry, and a huge portion of the movie industry, as well as all the electronics they make.
And still, they're continuing to develop it like the new 750GB HDD. I mean, what the heck for you'll use it if you're already have 160GB HDD.
