Seems some fool let the game out of the bag early, Halo ODST is in some lucky gamers hands right now . . slip over and see how this happened and where.

ODST Is almost here...As we all make preparations for Tuesday the 22nd of September to perhaps take time off work? Skip school? Go to the midnight launch and sleep all day? Or maybe simply to just pick it up at the end of the day. This all could be void since the retailer GAME, has shipped Halo: ODST early to many online buyers.

Reports are coming in from various websites such as Whirlpool, Palgn or Xbox.com.au that buyers have already received their copies.

I'm kind of worried I'm going to get banned. My copy came today, and I played it for a few hours - it was an order from a trusted site, and it was meant to come in 3-5 days (i.e. - Tuesday). Obviously something went wrong.

Surely there's a way for them to block the pirates and not the propers?

Actually, I read that thats exactly what they're doing- somehow blocking only the pirates and not those who got it legit.

you dont have to worry about being banned from xbox live. if you can prove you purchased the game legally then your fine. STEPTO(the guy at xbox who bans everyone) said at PAX this year that you can always play a game early that you bought from a retailer or ebay or whatever. Its not your fault that they sent it early. If you dont trust me you can listen to Major Nelsons pod cast, the one that was made at pax 09.

Yes, that is true. Microsoft can only blame the retailer and not the customer. So if you got a legitimate copy early, you are allowed to play it.

Although France I hear got ripped off when they bought their copy as it didn't come with a second disc.
