Most recently, the launch PS3s have been suffering from a phenomenon known as "Yellow Light Of Death", which has killed many PS3s and leaves their owners to pay up $150 for repair. Click on the source to see more information.

During the episode, the Watchdog team sends Sony a technical report for three PS3s which had succumbed to hardware failure. This is one of Sony's biggest issues with the report -- Maguire explained, "The testing concerned a sample of only three PS3s, which cannot, on any basis, be deemed to be representative of a UK user base of 2.5 million."

    $150 for repair?

    Seriously?

Least Microsoft gives repairs away for free when they know they have a hardware failure.

Only if you get the RRoD.. Not to mention Sony do repair for free for the first year just like most companies. Microsoft have the 3 year warranty on the Xbox 360 but if you call them crying about a faulty disk drive or something prepare to pay.

Sony used to give away free exchanges here in the UK.

Oh yeah, telling them some common sense is an "attack". It's more like Sony slapping them up side their head and saying "Duh!"

So . . . what's the big deal? Sony said their numbers (3 PS3s?!) were far from reliable for stats. Big deal . . . it's the truth!

By the way, I have a launch 60 and have no issues whatsoever. So not ALL launch consoles are going out!

Go to the source and watch the video, theres more than 3 people going for their system repair. Also at the end of the video, theres a funny song about "Yellow Light Of Death" that you got to see. It made me laugh.

Yes 11.. 11 out of 2.5 million. Wow thats a nice a market sample I guess if 11 have problems then the rest do. Oh shit what's that MY 60Gb PS3 is FINE! What is that about Watchdog, your scare mongering is trying to say they all have problems.. What about me? Where is my problem? I feel *bleep*ing left out now.
