Development for Bayonetta originally began on the XBox 360 by the PlatinumGames team, However, they put Sega in charge handling the port for PS3. Tatsuya has yet to give any comment about if this decision will effect the quality of the PS3 port, though first impressions of the PS3 version aren't looking good.

    I thought next gen gaming was past this. I know ports still happen but come on! Have games developers really become so lazy that they won't port a game anymore.. If Bayonetta lacks any quality because of this move I probably won't buy it.

      The last time the PS3 version was playable, the framerate was stuttering into near realms of unplayability and the graphics were jagged. Judging by the fact Platinum has let someone else handle it now, I would imagine it's going to stay the same.

          a lot of devs did this when the ps3 first came out, and the ps3 versions were really bad.

          I had to pass on the Ghostbusters game because of the lousy porting process...I won't hesitate to do the same here.

          ghostbusters is one thing, but from what i hear, bayonetta is a very high quality game(in terms of gameplay). so maybe hesitate a little

      All things considered, a move like this should make the game better for all of the consoles it goes on since the original team can focus on making the game itself while a second can focus on just porting.

      Of course that's under the assumption that porting to the PS3 is as easy as breathing. However the PS3 is one of the hardest consoles to port to ever made so that changes a lot.
