So, does anyone remember GRIN, the Swedish developers that closed down shop a while back? The developers of Bionic Commando, Wanted: Weapons of Fate, and Terminator: Salvation were purported to be working on an unannounced Final Fantasy title. Everyone thought that with GRIN's closure, the project was dead.

Sources close to GamesIndustry.biz have now learned that the title is still in development, as Square Enix had pulled the project from GRIN after six months of development due to quality concerns. This was one of the factors in the studio's closing.

The Final Fantasy title being worked on at GRIN before the studio collapsed is still in development by publisher Square Enix, GamesIndustry.biz understands.

Sources close to both parties have revealed that the game, initially signed off in Tokyo in the second half of last year and codenamed Fortress, was central to the collapse of the Swedish developer – Square took the project off GRIN after only six months of development due to concerns over quality issues.

I am glad to hear that it's still in production.

Being an action RPG, I am hoping that it may be somewhat like Vagrant Story!!
