Rumor flying that Sony have been working on a rumble SIXAXIS controller for months. They say the only problem is the battery life and that it is running out very fast. This is good news because they can get the controller out on the market a lot earlier.

Gaming site 'Innerbits' is claiming that two of their 'close sources' have confirmed that Sony has been working on developing the rumbling SIXAXIS PS3 controller for several months and are now just trying to iron out a few small bugs. One of the main current issues is the lack of a strong battery life for the controller while Innerbits also discusses the PR issue Sony will have when the controller is released as gamers will either have to do deal without rumble or go and buy additional controllers.

Many have suspected that since the agreement, Sony will have been working on a new controller with rumble support. We can now confirm that this is the case. We’ve heard from two independent sources at Sony that they have been working on prototypes for several months. Officially, the corporate line is still “no comment”. Unofficially, Sony is facing some difficulties with battery life; i.e. Between the rumble and the wireless support, the batteries are draining too fast to be acceptable for consumers.

    If that's the truth:

Prolonged Battery Life/No Rumble > Short Battery Life W/ Rumble

Meh I don't really mind if they make this or not to be honest, if people want with rumble then get that and if people want without then get that it just helps them with a choice in the matter
