There's nothing about a ban. The publisher took it off themselves.

Swastikas are banned in Germany. Which is why they took it out.

Title of the article implies that the game was banned, not the symbol.

Yeah, it really doesn't matter. It clearly would have been banned. Unless it somehow slipped through unnoticed. It seems they got all the obvious ones.

Some things are just unacceptable in some cultures. I think we should be understanding about that. It's similar to how in a nudist family going around naked in the house is perfectly fine, but would you like it if some family of four came to your house and walked around butt naked? (And no, they're not supermodels either. And they have kids.)

but the whole country? you can choose to not support the game by not buying it. individual rights and decisions are being made by the government

But what if you had a different opinion on the matter than another person in your house . . . The problem arises in that one opinion makes the other null and void and therefore is far from fair.

As huge as the Holocaust is, it exceeds personal opinions regarding it, and must have certain things that will cover the entire nation instead. Afterall . . . if someone wants the game, they can always move. Or they can get it illegally.

Do you not realize what Hitler did? I don't think they want to relive it as it all happened in their backyards.

It's also illegal in Germany to do the "Hitler salute" or say the words "Sieg heil" in written or vocal forms.

Well because of Nazi's Germany will forever be seen in history as the 'bad' guys.

This is of course why we, NATO aligned countries, can count on it. The second shit stirs Germany would be the first ones in to try and earn a bit of redemption.

But honestly, it's gonna take a lot of goody two shoeing to overcome Jewish Genocide.

No one holds WW2 against Germany any more.

At least not in a political sense.

so when is america going to ban the confederate flag?

      TurMoiL911 Sep 24, 09
A lot of people still consider the old Confederate flag to be a symbol of Southern pride and heritage.

The Nazi Party really messed things up by using the swastika for some people. It has a lot of deep symbolism in Hinduism and Buddhism.

Yeah, I personally don't really like the confederate flag, but for so many it doesn't symbolize rebellion or slavery. It simply means southern pride like Turmoil said. Sorta like states have their own flags. The confederate flag is like a flag some like to have represent the whole of the south.

Different from the Swastika, in the meaning.

the only thing the confederate states have to be proud of is holding back this country from being any good at all.

To you perhaps, but to many it's different. You cannot say that the south hasn't contributed to anything to the country. If you say that, then you're obviously biased. Just as I don't like Louisiana because of the area I live in La, I still have to admit that the culture has contributed a LOT to the country and is a major part of it.

I like the way it's worded; it makes it seem like the Nazi symbols aren't allowed but the Nazis in the game were A-okay.

      How so?

It's not as though this law has suddenly sprang out of the ground.

It's been in place for numerous years and the guys behind the came MUST have had some idea of the German reaction to the Nazi imagery.

I can't see why this should be retaliated against at all. I personally think anything banned related to Nazism is perfectly fine with me, even if it's in a video game. They were terrible people.
