Resident Evil 5: Director's Cut has indeed been announced at TGS. RE5:DC is a re-release of Resident Evil 5, built to be played with Sony's motion controller. Other specifics such as any change in the enemy spawn, etc haven't been revealed yet. It is also unknown as of now if there will be a 360 version to take advantage of Natal.

Well, we now know what that "Resident Evil 5: Director's Cut" stuff was all about. It's a re-release of Res 5, built to take advantage of Sony's upcoming motion controller.

The game will be out in Spring 2010, ad it's far from the only existing PS3 title to take advantage of the new peripheral. During SCEJ's TGS press conference, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida revealed that the controller will also work with exsting games like LittleBigPlanet, EyePet, Flower, Pain, High Velocity Bowling "and more".

    Holy shit.

    1) Hell yes to Sony Motion Controller games

    2) I bought RE 5 at release-day. Hopefully there's a discount for existing owners. Then again...this is capcom. Who am I bullshitting?

Yourself? If you think they're not going to stiff you for the full price.

I'm not going to buy the game again just for motion controlling.

Good job Capcom. More ways to milk your fanbase of their money. Not a bad idea though...I'm still not getting it unless the game has a brand new chapter or something.

After RE4 got the Wii motion treatment after releases on the Gamecube and PS2, I don't think this is all that surprising.

Other than aiming? Nothing. Nothing at all....oh wait...qte's.....oh great I can see it now

majini grabs you- waggle waggle- shoot it
        Rinse/repeat.

But if sony can patch up old games to include motion support then why the hell is Capcom doing this? It make$ no $en$e.

The Sony motion controller has full 3d motion tracking. This isn't going to be a Wii-waggler idiot game where you simply shake it around to enact certain sequences.

...umm...the sony motion controller may have full 3d motion tracking but it would take TIME & EFFORT to pull it off.

If not then it becomes a wii shovelware game with HD graphics no amount technology will change that. And capcom isn't the one to put time & effort into RE5. So only waggle waggle for those who buy this.

Oh yeah, this is gonna sell, it's gonna sell because people don't (even know or try to) encourage these *bleep*S to at least ATTEMPT to release an update to install it in the original game. So to any RE5 owner buying it, enjoy wasting your money... and while you're at it, throw your wallet down the toilet too.

They should of made this into downloadable content for the game

So dlc that should have already been on the way will come out next spring on the disc and other than that were getting the EXACT same game that came out spring 09 with just waggle features?

The main question "Is Versus already on this?"

And so begins the "Wii shovelware fad" on PS3/360.
