Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has already started a massive ad campaign for the upcoming PS3 exclusive title, Uncharted 2, despite it being almost 3 weeks from release. This is the earliest SCEE has ever advertised a gaming, suggesting that the game will be having a massive launch.

They will have to do more than showing 5 second clips of the trailer. I am not saying do what Halo: ODST did but sometimes just clips is far more annoying than an advert that takes up 1 minute 30 seconds.

The TV ad campaign will obviously have longer commercials.

Jesus. Does EVERYONE have to compare this to ODST?

I merely compared the advert you idiot. I mean who wouldn't as while I am not a fan of the game the advert was perfect and summed up Halo impressively well. While not every game will have an advert like that I do prefer my adverts slightly longer than 5 seconds give or take the PS3 intro. I really hope Red9 is right as I remember Killzone 2 had a really long ad campaign in the UK and yet it was always the same 5-10 second clips until release.

Recently, I've seen a lot more gaming advertisements on English TV. Batman was on a bit, WET's been on a few times, so has Uncharted 2. They've probably been on before, but it's been a while since I've seen non-sport games advertised.

Yeah for the last two weeks Sony was advertising Need for Speed: Shift constantly on PS3, Microsoft seems to have now retained the advertising rights for the game for a week or two but they aren't doing much with it. So far all I have seen on English TV is PS3 adverts for a plethora of games from WET, Batman and Uncharted as you rightfully said.
