Sony Still Thinking Of Names For The Motion Controller

Currently, the fans have dubbed it either wand controller or motion controller. Sony still haven't set a name for the controller, and are still thinking of ideas. They want the name to be more mainstream and less technical as apposed to SIXAXIS and DualShock 3

"There are several candidates for the name of the controller," said Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida. While still undecided, those names are making their way through Sony, being run up the flagpole and getting feedback from various internal departments.

"The SIXAXIS and the DualShock 3 — while great product names — are based on the actual tech," Yoshida explained. "The name we pick for the Wand Controller maybe won't be so techy."

    Funny how you're all calling it a useless piece of sh*t when not one of you has even used the thing. At least let the thing prove itself to be useless before bestowing upon it that title.

      It's a motion controller that looks like a little dildo and has no force-feedback (that's not entirely true but if it does it'll only extend to your hand and would be just dualshocky) and has only been created to contend with Natal and the Wii. Of course it's shit.

        However, Natal was made to contend with the Wii and appeal to casual audiences with thier terrible ideas such as trivia xbox live games and avatars. Natal is also a KO of Eyetoy, so i think Natal is more fail than this piece of equipment.

        On a side note, the Sony motion controller has no buttons, so the wii may have taken all the spotlight. But, we'll see it try.

    Wow people know *bleep* all about this controller.. Likerd this controller does have buttons, it even has a trigger on the back like the PS3 R2 and L2 buttons. Tiger of Wu this controller was not created to contend with Natal as Natal and this thing were unveiled within the space of a day at E3.. If Sony can go through R&D, concept, build and create software for a platform within less than 24 hours of finding out about Natal, well yeah i'll stop because that didn't happen... This controller so far has shown nothing but promise, all I see is a bunch of people jumping on a hate bandwagon to look cool infront of their pathetic online friends..

      Okay then, let's completely exclude that point from existence.

      It was still created to contend with the Nintendo Wii to win over casual gamers. Tell me with complete honesty that it wasn't? Oh, I'm sorry, what's that? Of course, that's right, the sound of you failing on about ten different levels.

    I don't like this, I didn't really like the motion controller on the Wii at all, I hope that they don't make this essential for new games as that would really suck.

      They won't make it essential; Sony aren't completely stupid. It's just an add-on to use for specifically made games.
