Once a pipe dream now becomes reality. Speaking with bullet hell shoot-em-up masters Cave, Kotaku has learned that their upcoming Xbox 360 release, Mushihime-sama Futari Ver 1.5, will be region free, unlike the developer's previous two releases, Do Don Pachi Daioujou Black Label Extra and Death Smiles, which were restricted to Japan only.
Cave's Makato Asada said that the overseas market was a factor in making the game region-free, and they want to measure the amount of overseas users who are buying and playing the title. The sales of Mushihime-sama Futari will have a direct impact on whether other Cave titles such as Espgaluda II will undergo localization for America. So, I HIGHLY suggest buying the game from your friendly neighborhood import shops.
Are your hardcore enough to pick this game up, or are you too scared of the bullet hell, pansies?
Speaking with Cave's Makato Asada at Tokyo Game Show, we inquired about the developer's upcoming shoot-em-up release Mushihime-sama Futari for the Xbox 360, wondering if the title would be mercifully region-free and therefore import friendly. He had good news.
